We take social media – and the role it can play to enhance your event –  very seriously at WH+T. We have made a commitment to explore as many avenues as we can to ensure we work with you together to attract maximum attention to your event.  Should we be successful in being invited to cater at your event we shall share, like, retweet and Instagram as many images and information about your event as we possibly can.

We would also like to run promotions alongside your event. Using targeting within Facebook and Instagram we can find the correct people to see our posts about your event.  We ran a promotion – not Facebook sponsored – to win £100 of our own beef which reached over 75k people. We will provide a monetary commitment based on the size of your event and the percentage of commission we have to pay. Some examples would be – win 2 tickets to your event when sharing your post or your page- win a hamper of beef when sharing our page and liking your post – win 10 free meals with well hung and tender when sharing a post connected to your event. We would be happy to work with you to tailor a post or competition to create maximum exposure.

Another thing we have noted is the rise of ‘instagramming’ your food when eating out. Over the last fifteen years food in the event catering world has become better tasting but not better looking. Customer trends have changed  – first it was all about the portion size – then it became about quality and traceability of food – and now we see people looking at the presentation and the food ‘experience’.

We are committed to giving customers the wow factor when they choose to eat with us – giving them not only fresh ingredients and tasty beef – but also a great picture to show of to their friends.  We have added our custom branded greaseproof paper to every meal and burger we sell and added custom branded printed cups which double up for a fries holder and for our coffee and tea. Even when building our new kiosk we have added grills which can toast the buns and lids which can ensure proper melting of the cheese onto the burgers. Everyone loves a good melted cheese picture!

Our staff motto during training is now ‘if it’s not ‘instagrammable’  – then don’t sell it’.

Our new kiosk also has integrated media screens – one for our menu and one for information about us – which can move through different pages. We use a program which is easily edited – we can tailor this for your event too – and even direct people to your own social media outlets on request.  For example during Musselburgh Races we can give out ‘house tips’ to customers waiting – anything to engage the customer into the experience.

  • We have a tailored HACCP plan on every kiosk we send out
    Our staff are trained using our in house training before they start work. All team leaders have Level 2 Food Handlers Certificates. Relevant copies are sent out with every kiosk
  • Our kiosks are checked on a yearly basis by a registered Gas Safe engineer – a copy of certificate travels with the relevant kiosk
  • PAT testing is carried out once a year – the full test certificate is with every kiosk
  • All certificates and copies of insurance and compliance are available to send via email to event organisers
